Andie’s Questions

1: What’s your latest 5 star read and one thing you liked about it?

educated

My latest 5 star read was Educated by Tara Westover! I really loved the way that she was fairly objective about all of the horrible things she experienced during her childhood, leaving me room to be really upset on her behalf! I might have screamed at this book just a little bit…and that’s how you know it’s good!

2: How do you organize your bookshelves?

Most of my bookshelves are organized by genre, and then alphabetically by title within that genre. My TBR bookshelf is organized by 1) size, 2)hardback/paperback, 3)books from subscription boxes, 4)non-fiction, and 5)ARCs. It might look unorganized, but I understand my own madness, and that’s what counts 😉

3: Print, e-book, or audiobook? Why?

All 3!! I tend to try to have one of each going at any given time. This way, I am able to have access to one of the books I am reading, no matter where I am or what I am doing.

4: What is your favorite bookish post to write?

I do tend to really enjoy doing Tags. Also, doing the WWW Wednesday posts have really helped me to stay on top of what I’m reading, so writing those are fun simply because it kicks my butt into gear!

5: Dream reading nook?

Ooh, a room with wall-to-wall built-in bookcases with a large and comfy window seat. Also, there should be a huge, comfy chair I could curl up in.

6: How much does it take you to read, say, 100 pages?

I’m assuming this means how long does it take me to read 100 pages…and it really depends on the book. If it is a book I’m really enjoying, I could read that much in no more than an hour. If it is a book that I am struggling through, it could take me days.

7: Do you prefer series or stand-alones at the moment?

I’ve been in a bit of a stand-alone groove for the past month or so. I just finished up reading all of the books in the Shadowhunters universe, so I think it has put me off series for a bit. That might be part of why I’m struggling with getting through Dragonfly in Amber right now…ooh, interesting, I’m learning so much about myself haha

8: How do you deal with reading slumps?

I deal with this in one of two ways. I either completely stop reading and spend a lot of time playing Sims 4 or binging YouTube videos -or- I read some really mindless chick lit that I can fly through super fast to give me a kickstart.

9: How many books are you currently reading?

As per my answer to a prior question, I’m reading three books right now. Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon on my e-reader, The Endless Beach by Jenny Colgan on audiobook, and My Lady Jane in print.

10: Does it come easy for you to unhaul books?

It really depends on my mood. If I’m feeling especially sentimental, then no. If I’m in a “let’s get rid of all the things!!” mood, then I can unhaul quite a few. Getting my husband to agree to letting me get rid of said books is a whole other story 😉

11: Fave Booktubers?

My favorites are:

emmmabooks

A Clockwork Reader

Little Book Owl

PeruseProject

readbyzoe

Regina’s Questions

1: If you could meet any author who would you meet?

Well, if we are talking any author, living or dead, I would certainly say Jane Austen and Emily Dickinson, but also J.K. Rowling, Sherryl Jordan, Cassandra Clare, and Jenny Colgan.

2: What is the last book you regretted buying?

I honestly can’t think of any.  🤷🏻‍♀️

3: If you had the chance to write a book with any author who would you pick?

I definitely have to choose Sherryl Jordan. She just has such a magical way of writing, and I feel like she would totally get me out of my little box.

4: What book made a really big impact on you?

theroomonrueamelie

So many! How can I choose just one?! I guess I’ll go with my most recent one which would be The Room on Rue Amélie by Kristin Harmel. If you want to read my review of this amazing book, click here.

5: Where is your favorite place to read?

I tend to read in my office for the most part, but I also read in bed quite a bit.

6: If you could turn any book into a movie, what book would you pick?

My answer to this question will always and forever be Winter of Fire by Sherryl Jordan.

7: Which bookish character do you look up to and why?

I have always looked up to Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. I love how she is a completely flawed character, but she eventually realizes this and owns up to it, and then makes steps to change. I find this incredibly admirable, and I want to be her when I grow up 🙂

8: If you could live the life as any character who would you pick and why?

theprincessdiaries

I actually think it would be really fun to live the life of Mia Thermopolis from The Princess Diaries! You get to learn to be a princess and you get to date Michael Moscovitz – what could be better?!

9: Would you ever get a bookish tattoo or do you already have one? What would you get?

I do not have one, and I probably won’t get one. But, if I were to get one, I would probably get either the Deathly Hallows symbol or a quote from Pride and Prejudice in fancy cursive.

10: You’re only allowed to read one more book and that’s it, what book do you pick?

I answered something similar in a tag in the past, and I’m going to cheat a little and pick the anthology of all of Jane Austen’s works 😉
