Three-Day Lyrical Challenge: Day 1

I was tagged to do the Three-Day Lyrical Challenge by Siobhan @ Siobhan’s Novelties. If you haven’t checked out her blog lately, what are you doing?? Go! Do it! Do it now! 😉 Thank you so much for the tag, Siobhan!!

I was very excited when I was tagged for this challenge. I am, obviously, a big reader. But, I am also a musician! I went to school for music, and I have a wedding singing business on the side. Getting to share some of my favorite music here on my book blog is such a fun melding of my two loves 🙂

Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Share one of your favorite songs/lyrics one at a time for three days.
  • Nominate three other bloggers each day.

I am a giant P!nk fan, and I always have been. She is such an amazing artist. She writes incredible music, has phenomenal breath support, is an outstanding entertainer, and she is a fantastic mother. Basically, I want to be her friend, like, yesterday! 🙂

One of my absolute favorite songs by her is Glitter in the Air. It is a beautiful song, and I absolutely love singing it. What sent it over the top for me though was her performance of it at the 2010 Grammy’s. I am adding the video of this performance below. You’re welcome 😉  (Btw, you really only need to watch until about the 4:55 mark…)

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?

Closed your eyes and trusted, just trusted

Have you ever thrown a fistful of glitter in the air?

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said, “I just don’t care”?

It’s only half past the point of no return

The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn

The thunder before the lightning, and the breath before the phrase

Have you ever felt this way, eh ee eh ee eh

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?

Your whole life waiting on the ring to prove you’re not alone

Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?

Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?

It’s only half past the point of oblivion

The hourglass on the table, the walk before the run

The breath before the kiss, and the fear before the phrase

Have you ever felt this way? eh ee eh ee eh

La la la la la la la la

There you are, sitting in the garden

Clutching my coffee, calling me sugar

You called me sugar

Have you ever wished for an endless night?

Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight

Have you ever…held your breath

And asked yourself, will it ever get better than tonight?

Tonight

I tag…

Bree ~ Samantha ~ Leslie

Are you a P!nk fan? Am I right, or am I right about that performance? What is your favorite song by P!nk? Let’s talk down in the comments!

Love and happy reading (and singing!),

  1. I kinda remember us talking about u being a musician. 🙂 🙂 Also I love Pink and this song is coincidentally one of my themesongs for the novel I’m writing. Hehe. before starting a novel I set songs as it’s soundtrack and to inspire me. Glitter in The Air fits a chapter in my novel, which by the way is a retelling of Peter Pan. 🙂
