WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words! All you have to do is answer the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

onthecomeup

I’m excited to finally be reading On The Come Up! It has been sitting on my shelf since February, and now I’m tearing through it.

aloyalheart

A Loyal Heart is book #4 of a series (the first book of which I was just kind of lukewarm about – see my review for An Uncertain Choice here). But, these books can be read as stand-alones, and this one I’m liking so far. Hopefully it will continue in that vein 🙂

What did you recently finish reading?

sadie

I listened to Sadie on audio, and I cannot imagine consuming this book in any other way. It is written as if it were a true crime podcast, The Girls, that is investigating the disappearance of Sadie, and the murder of her sister. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It went back and forth between the podcast and Sadie’s perspective, which I found intriguing. Definitely worth a read if you enjoy mystery and listening to true crime podcasts – and definitely listen to it on audio! (4 Stars)

thevanishingstair

The Vanishing Stair is the second book in the Truly Devious series, and it was a great extension of the story. I love the present day parts of the story, as I did the last time as well, but for some reason the parts during the 1930’s (when the original crime took place) always seem to drag a bit for me. I am in love with Stevie, and I hope that the next book in this series dives even more into her character and her relationships with the characters surrounding her. (4 Stars)

daisyjonesandthesix

After reading Taylor Jenkins Reid’s last book, I knew that I needed to snatch up Daisy Jones & The Six as soon as I could. I loved this book! The audiobook was absolutely fantastic. It had a full cast – each character had a different voice actor, and since it is written as if it were a rock documentary, it made it feel that much more real. The relationships between all of the band members were so full of angst and love. I could have done without so much drug use, but I realize that was a product of the time the book was set in. Overall, it was a fantastic read for anyone who enjoys historical fiction and music. (4.5 Stars)

deathinstpetersburg

I have been a big fan of the Lady Emily series for years, but Death in St. Petersburg just sort of dragged for me. I’m not sure exactly why. I think it might have been a pacing problem. Each chapter went back and forth between the past and the present (which is something that Alexander doesn’t normally do in this series), and it just made me lose steam with each change. In the end, I wanted to know what happened, but it was a bit more of a struggle than I would have liked. Hopefully the next book in the series is a bit better paced. (3 Stars)

What do you think you’ll read next?

thefourtendencies

The Four Tendencies finally came through on my library holds, so this will be my next audiobook.

ladysmoke

I will be starting on Lady Smoke as soon as I am done with On The Come Up. I am trying to read as many of my physical books as I can before we travel to China next week!!

Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? What are you currently reading? Let me know down in the comments!

Love and happy reading,

Author:

Hello!! My name is Whitney, and I love books! I spend a huge amount of time reading (way more time than I should, if we are being perfectly honest!) I live in Nashville with my husband and my two dogs, who are a total mess and generally are my reading buddies. I will probably share them with you, too. I also love to sing, play guitar, hike, play The Sims, watch tons of YouTube videos, and drink creamy tea and coffee.
