Getting Personal:

March was a very interesting month for me. Here is what happened:

  • I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I have been having issues related to my PCOS for years and decided that this was the best path to relief for me. As a result of this, I have had to take the month of March and most of April off of work. My mom moved in with us to help take care of my daughter, since I could not do many of the things involved in taking care of her during my recovery, and my husband works full time.
  • I read a lot, as you all can see. I was also able to read a lot of longer books, which was nice.
  • I was finally able to start booking some weddings! For those that don’t know, I have a side business as a wedding singer. If you are interested in hearing my voice, check out my Instagram! I have some videos posted of me singing. I’m hoping to start posting those again once I am released to do things again by my doctor.

I didn’t post very much this month because I had a lot of brain fog after my surgery. I played a lot of The Sims 4 and read a lot of books. And I napped…a lot. That was all of the mental capacity I had for several weeks. I’m finally feeling more like my normal self, so I’m hoping to start posting more regularly again soon.

My April TBR Pile:

Sense & Second-Degree Murder by Tirzah Price

The Mad Girls of New York by Maya Rodale

The Murder of Mr. Wickham by Claudia Gray

The Radium Girls by Kate Moore

The Sweetness of Water by Nathan Harris

How many books did you read this month? Have you read any of the books I read? Are you participating in any reading challenges? What about the books on my TBR for April? Let me know down in the comments!

Love and happy reading,

Whitney

Author:

Hello!! My name is Whitney, and I love books! I spend a huge amount of time reading (way more time than I should, if we are being perfectly honest!) I am currently working as a library page at a branch of my local public library. I live in Texas with my husband, daughter, and my dogs, who are a total mess and generally are my reading buddies. I also love to sing, hike, play The Sims, watch tons of YouTube videos, and drink creamy tea and coffee.
