Hi everyone,

I wanted to write up a short post to let you know that I will not be updating my blog for the rest of the month of June. And, to be realistic, potentially for the month of July as well. Why, you might be asking? Well, my life is about to change forever…starting tomorrow.

My husband and I are adopting our first child. We are over the moon with excitement and anticipation. This has been a very long and stressful journey. But, the end result is our daughter, so it is completely worth it!

Everyone has been asking me how I’m feeling, and my answer has generally been, “I’m equal parts excited and terrified!” I will be honest, right now the fear is winning out. I have never been a mother before, and I’m not starting out with a newborn. I’m jumping right into the deep end with a toddler. I’ve been told that feeling scared is normal, so I guess I’m supremely normal right now.

I want to be a good mother. I want to make her life easier, better, perfect. I don’t want to mess her up. I want her to love me. I hope all of these things are achievable.

I would appreciate any and all prayers and positive thoughts that you can send our way over the next few weeks. We will be traveling and bonding and attempting to remain positive in the midst of a hurricane of emotions. We would appreciate all of the help we can get!

So, this is a “see you later” rather than a “goodbye”. I fully intend to get back into blogging once our life has settled back down a bit. Until then, happy reading everyone!
