Monthly Wrap-Up: January 2020

Hello! It’s been a while since I’ve done a monthly wrap-up! This month I have read a grand total of 13 books! I was not expecting to finish so many. I think it is largely because it is so cold outside and I don’t want to go do anything 😂

I’m going to try to do things slightly differently this year. I am going to keep y’all updated on how my various book challenges are going in each of my monthly wrap-ups.

Let’s get into it!

Book Review: Tweet Cute

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord ~ 368 pages ~ published 1/21/2020 by Wednesday Books

Goodreads Synopsis:

Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming ― mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.

Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time.

All’s fair in love and cheese ― that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life ― on an anonymous chat app Jack built.

Yearly Wrap-Up: 2019

yearlywrapup

I am a few weeks late on this, but I wanted to go ahead and post my yearly wrap-up for 2019! It was a crazy year for me. The vast majority of my year was focused on our adoption. After waiting for what felt like forever, we finally adopted our daughter in 2019! It has been an amazing and stressful journey, but it finally feels like we are settling down into a good routine. Other than the adoption, I spent a lot of time with family and friends, as well as some much needed time with my husband. I left my job and became a stay-at-home mom. And I still read a TON of books!! Continue reading “Yearly Wrap-Up: 2019”

My 2020 Reading Goals

2020ReadingGoals

It is officially 2020!! I kind of fell off the blogging band wagon last year (adopting a new baby can do that to a person), but I fully intend to jump back on! I might not post quite as much as I used to, but I am going to try to be more consistent.

Starting a new year is always fun for me. I am a nerdy little planner at heart, so making plans for the new year gives me a little thrill. I am going to be following along with a bunch of different reading challenges. I might not finish all of them, but I think that is alright. Just having a guide that will lead me towards books that I might not otherwise pick up is going to be fun for me.
