I have had a good start to the year, reading 11 books in January. Here are my thoughts on the books that I have read in the second half of the month of January!

I was tagged by Reg @ Bookish in Bed to do this tag! If you haven’t checked out her blog, go do it right now! I thought this one sounded like a lot of fun (and I finally got up the energy to do it, sorry it took me so long to get to it Reg!!)
Let’s get into it!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s prompt was to choose the first 10 books that you randomly grab from your shelf. Then they suggest that you talk about whether you have read them, and if so, what you thought of them. I thought it would be fun to have my daughter (who is 6) pick 10 random books from my shelf while my back was turned. After some ominous crashing sounds ( 😂 😳) here were the 10 books she brought me!

With the prospect of my trip to Japan on the horizon (we fly out on June 13!), I spent pretty much all of my Christmas and birthday money on new travel products from Amazon! I had been doing some fairly intense research for products that would be good for my Japan trip, so I had an entire list saved of travel products to purchase.
Here is a list of some travel essentials and must-haves from Amazon for 2023!!

Traveling has always been a passion of mine, and lately I have been inhaling all of the travel blog and vlog content that I can. I have, therefore, amassed quite a bit of knowledge about traveling. I am starting a new blog series devoted to travel – packing hacks, travel tips, trip recommendations, etc.
I have a big trip coming up to Japan this summer, so that will be my main focus in the coming months. My husband and I just traveled to New York over New Years, so I will also be posting about that trip and the process of packing for it.
I’m also planning on doing several travel themed book recommendation posts!
If you have any requests for topics in this series, please comment below and let me know!
Love and happy traveling!

Begin Again by Emma Lord ~ 352 pages ~ to be published by Wednesday Books on January 24, 2023
As usual, Andie Rose has a plan: Transfer from community college to the hyper competitive Blue Ridge State, major in psychology, and maintain her lifelong goal of becoming an iconic self-help figure despite the nerves that have recently thrown her for a loop. All it will take is ruthless organization, hard work, and her trademark unrelenting enthusiasm to pull it all together.
But the moment Andie arrives, the rest of her plans go off the rails. Her rocky relationship with her boyfriend Connor only gets more complicated when she discovers he transferred out of Blue Ridge to her community college. Her roommate Shay needs a major, and despite Andie’s impressive track record of being The Fixer, she’s stumped on how to help. And Milo, her coffee-guzzling grump of an R.A. with seafoam green eyes, is somehow disrupting all her ideas about love and relationships one sleep-deprived wisecrack at a time.
But sometimes, when all your plans are in rubble at your feet, you find out what you’re made of. And when Andie starts to find the power of her voice as the anonymous Squire on the school’s legendary pirate radio station–the same one her mom founded, years before she passed away–Andie learns that not all the best laid plans are necessarily the right ones.
