WWW Wednesday: October 3, 2018

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words! All you have to do is answer the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

childrenofbloodandbone

I am on the home stretch of Children of Blood and Bone! It is fantastic so far! I anticipate finishing it tonight. 🙂

thewitchofwillowhall

The Witch of Willow Hall is a NetGalley ARC, and I am reading it bit by bit at the moment. It is probably going to take me a few weeks to finish it, simply because I am trying to get other books finished faster.

etiquetteandespionage

I started listening to the audiobook for Etiquette & Espionage yesterday while driving my delivery van at work, and it is really funny! I’m very curious to see where it ends up going.

What did you recently finish reading?

salttothesea

Salt to the Sea is one of the best books I have read this year. I listened to the audiobook, which I highly recommend, as it has a different narrator for each character. The characters were all beautifully done. The amount of research that went into this book was just fantastic (I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to this, as I also write historical fiction, so I appreciate the grunt work of researching that goes along with it). I learned about a terrible tragedy that occurred during WWII that I had never heard of before, which is always very exciting for the history nerd in me! All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves historical fiction, but also just to anyone who enjoys well-written characters and the relationships between said characters. (5 STARS)

theravenboys

I listened to the audiobook for The Raven Boys after hearing so many people in the book world say how much they love this series. I will say, I did enjoy getting to know these characters, and I also thought that the world Stiefvater created was interesting. It never really hooked me like I was expecting it too, so this was definitely a case of a series getting too much hype for me. I still really liked it, but I don’t feel overly compelled to continue the series. I might do so eventually, but certainly not right away. (3.5 STARS)

What do you think you’ll read next?

ashprincess

I am only giving myself one TBR pick, Ash Princess. I need to get this book read before October 12, when I will be attending a panel she is speaking at during the Southern Festival of Books.

Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? What are you currently reading? Let me know down in the comments!

Love and happy reading,
