In October I read a total of 12 books. I also had a grand adventure at the Southern Festival of Books, and got way more books to add to my TBR than I bargained for.
Let’s get into it!
Books I Read:
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (3.5 Stars) ~ audio
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi (REVIEW) (5 Stars) ~ print
Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger (5 Stars) ~ audio
Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian (5 Stars) ~ print
Edinburgh Twilight by Carole Lawrence (3 Stars) ~ audio
Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman (4 Stars) ~ audio
Bookish Boyfriends: A Date With Darcy by Tiffany Schmidt (3 Stars) ~ print
The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton (REVIEW) (5 Stars) ~ audio
The Witch of Willow Hall by Hester Fox (REVIEW) (4.5 Stars) ~ e-book
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (2 Stars) ~ audio
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo (review coming soon) (5 Stars) ~ audio
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab (4 Stars) ~ print
I’ve decided to start adding what format I read each book in out to the side. If nothing else, it makes it easier on me when I look back to be able to determine how I consumed each book.
Also, I just want to make sure you are aware that I do write a mini-review for each book that I finish. Those are in my WWW Wednesday posts each week, but I also post them on Goodreads. If you aren’t already following me on Goodreads, you can go here to see what I’m up to over there π

Getting Personal:
October was a pretty busy month for me! The beginning of the month was pretty slow, but then the second weekend was the Southern Festival of Books! It was my first time going to the festival (or any book festival for that matter) and it was absolutely fantastic. You can read all about my experience here.
After that weekend, things picked up a bit more. In addition to all of the authors I saw at the Southern Festival of Books, I also got to see Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera talk about their new book, What If It’s Us. My husband and I got to go and see Josh Groban and Idina Menzel in concert! I have been a fan of Josh Groban since his first album, so this was a dream come true for me πΒ And, with a twist of fate, I got last minute tickets to see Hanson in concert as well! I am also a huge fan of them, so my pre-teen self had a pretty amazing weekend haha
To round off the month, we had our annual Halloween party! I was Hermione (circa Prisoner of Azkaban) and my husband was Hagrid. It is always fun to see what costumes everyone comes up with.
My November TBR Pile:
Escaping From Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco
Time’s Convert by Deborah Harkness
My Plain Jane by The Lady Janies
Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills
After the Rain by Jane Lorenzini
These are the books that are on my physical TBR shelf. I might get to all of them, or none of them. I’m trying to give myself a little more grace coming into the holiday season. I might read a lot less in the month of November…and that’s okay. π
How many books did you read last month? Have you read any of the books I read? What about the books on my TBR for November? Let me know down in the comments!Β
Love and happy reading,
Wow this looks like a pretty great month, especially getting to go to that book festival and various concerts and meeting Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera! I was so sad they didn’t come anywhere near me for their book tour π’ I hope your November is amazing!
