WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words! All you have to do is answer the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I am currently sitting at 54% on The Whole-Brain Child. I am hoping to finish this one before the end of the month.
I am currently listening to The Librarian of Auschwitz on audio right now. I had no idea that this was a book in translation, so that was an exciting surprise!
My second book that came out of my January TBR Jam Jar was Time’s Convert. I am excited to dive back into the All Soul’s universe!
What did you recently finish reading?
I listened to The Diviners on audio, and I ended up really enjoying it. I love historical fiction, so I adored all of the fun 1920’s fashion and references. The thing that annoyed me throughout the book though was the slang that she threw in. It felt very forced, and became incredibly annoying as the book went on. I felt like the book would have been a full five stars without it. Also, as a giant scaredy-cat, the ghost story was just scary enough without giving me nightmares, which I appreciated. (4 Stars)
I read When We Meet Again as a buddy read with my mom, and I really loved it. I enjoyed the structure of the book, going back and forth between present day and the 1940s. I learned about how the U.S. had German POW camps here in the states during WWII, which I had never heard about before. I loved the characters, but I found some of the main characters’ choices to be frustrating. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading more books by Harmel. (4.5 Stars)
I finished The Girls at 17 Swann Street. I got this title from NetGalley, and the review for it will go up here on the blog soon. (4 Stars)
What do you think you’ll read next?
My Name is Leon is our book club pick for the month of January. I am hoping to start listening to the audiobook when I am finished with The Librarian of Auschwitz.
Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? What are you currently reading? Let me know down in the comments!
Love and happy reading,
I can’t wait to see what you think about Time’s Convert! Now that the Discovery of Witches TV show is available in the US, I immediately binged the entire first season and LOVED it! It makes me want to read the whole series over again (for the millionth time) and read Time’s Convert!
