Monthly Wrap-Up: September 2021

Hello again! Sorry I took a bit of an unannounced hiatus. But, I’m back! This month I read 12 books! I am on track right now to be able to hit my goal of 150 books for the year!

While I am aiming for 150 books this year, I am also aiming to diversify my reading. I am trying to break into genres I don’t typically gravitate toward. I am hoping to read more non-fiction and classics. And, as always, I am taking part in several reading challenges.

Book Review: Never Saw You Coming

Getting Personal:

So, I’ve been MIA from the blog for a few months now. There are a few reasons for that, but the biggest one being that I just didn’t feel motivated to blog. I have been feeling unmotivated in general lately, and I decided to listen to my body rather than try to force something just for the sake of having content. I finally got a little spark of motivation this week, and I am seizing it!

A few things that I have been up to since my last wrap-up:

*I started guitar lessons. I have been really enjoying it so far. My fingers have finally developed calluses and I feel like I’m having an easier time with the guitar this go around. Hopefully in the not to distant future I will be proficient enough to at least be able to strum some easy chords to accompany myself.

*Eliana and I have gone on a lot of playdates. We are finally making some good friends here, and it has been so nice to have other moms to talk to and hang out with.

*I was battling bronchitis for about 6 weeks. It was the absolute worst. I had the most awful cough for the entire time, and then it morphed into my nose being clogged as well. I am now battling allergies. I am past ready to just feel healthy again. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel of my sickness, so hopefully that will be soon.

*I’m about to start up tea parties again! I am very excited, because I did this every month for about a year in Tennessee before we adopted Eliana. It was so much fun, and I made some really great friendships. I am hoping that the same thing will happen here. 🙂

My October TBR Pile:

Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell

All the Feels by Olivia Dade

You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao

Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke

How many books did you read this month? Have you read any of the books I read? Are you participating in any reading challenges? What about the books on my TBR for October? Let me know down in the comments!

Love and happy reading,

Whitney
