Yearly Wrap-Up: 2021

2021, as a whole, was actually a pretty normal year for us. Aside from continued COVID precautions, getting vaccinated, getting started promoting my wedding music business again, traveling back to Nashville for a vacation, having a crazy blizzard at the beginning of the year, starting my monthly tea parties again, and reading more than I ever have before. Huh. I guess it was more eventful than I thought 😉

Books I Read

I read 155 books this year! This is the most books I have ever read! I had my goal set to 150 because I wanted to see if I could do it, and I did!! It was fairly stressful, so I don’t think I will ever try for that many again, but at least now I know I can do it. I also finished all of the reading challenges that I did this year for the first time, so I am very pleased with myself 🙂

I love the wrap-up that Goodreads creates at the end of the year, so if you want to see a fun round-up of the books I read, check out my Year in Books 2021!

My surprise of this year is actually romance! I read way more romance this year than I have in the past. Fantasy was once again my highest, which is not surprising, but I did read a lot more of it than in years past. I’m pretty proud of myself for reading a wider variety of genres this year than I have previously, including sci-fi and more classics. I ended up with 24 nonfiction reads this year, which averages to 2 per month, which is 50% more than I planned. I might make my goal for nonfiction higher for 2022.

As with last year, I would like to share with you the completed pages from my Always Fully Booked planner from Little Inklings Design. I love this planner so much, and I’m very excited to use it again for 2022.

Personal Goals for 2022

I only have a few personal goals for 2022:

  • Have a more consistent quiet time/journaling time
  • Have a healthier lifestyle
  • Blog more consistently
  • Start promoting my wedding music business

How was your 2021 reading year? Did you accomplish your goals? What are your goals for 2022? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
