Yearly Wrap-Up: 2022

2022 was a pretty good, and eventful, year for me! I had a hysterectomy for medical reasons. I started a new job that I love. My daughter started kindergarten. My best friend had a baby. I got to go on an amazing trip to New York that my husband surprised me with. And I read, a lot. 🙂

Books I Read:

I read 105 books this year! I set myself a smaller goal this year than last year. I wanted something more achievable with more normal reading habits. I participated in several reading challenges, but did not stress if I didn’t complete them all. Overall, it was a much more relaxed reading year than 2021 was.

I love the wrap-up that Goodreads creates at the end of the year, so if you want to see a fun round-up of the books I read, check out my Year in Books 2022!

Top 10 Favorite Books I Read in 2022:

1: Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke

My surprise of this year is actually mystery! I read way more mystery and thrillers this year than I have in the past. Fantasy was once again my highest, as well as romance, which is not surprising. I ended up with 12 nonfiction reads this year, which averages to 1 per month, which is what I was shooting for.

As with last year, I would like to share with you the completed pages from my Always Fully Booked planner from Little Inklings Design. I love this planner so much, and I’m very excited to use it again for 2023.

  • I want to attempt to read all of my backlist Book of the Month books, as well as read any new ones that I receive throughout the year.
  • I am going to follow these reading challenges:
    • Little Inklings Always Fully Booked Reading Challenge 2023
    • A to Z Challenge
    • Genre Reading Challenge

Personal Goals for 2023

I only have a few personal goals for 2023:

  • I want to reach 160 pounds – I am actively dieting using Noom
  • I want to start being more intentional with my music: practicing guitar, posting singing videos on TikTok/Instagram/YouTube, potentially teach voice lessons
  • I want to blog more consistently
  • I would like to start writing in my journal weekly and spending time in the Word every day

How was your 2022 reading year? Did you accomplish your goals? What are your goals for 2023? Let’s talk about it in the comments!

Love, happy reading, and happy new year,

Whitney
