Monthly Wrap-Up: April

So, I have seen other bloggers do Monthly Wrap-Up posts where they talk about the books they read that month, posts they published, and other various happenings of that particular month. I always enjoy these posts, so I decided to start doing my own!

I had a really good month, reading-wise! I read a total of TEN books this month. This was a combination of physical books, audio books, and e-books. I generally have one of each going at any particular time, and that way I am able to read no matter where I am or what I am doing!

Book Review: The Room on Rue Amélie

I am still on a two blog post a week schedule: book reviews on Mondays, and other bookish posts on Thursdays. I am toying with changing it to three posts a week: book reviews on Mondays, WWW Wednesdays, and other bookish posts on Fridays. Do y’all have thoughts about this?

Getting Personal:

The beginning of this month was quite busy, as my husband, Nathan, and I drove down to Texas for my sister’s wedding! We also celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary while we were there. It is crazy to think that we have already been married for 5 years! Getting to see family and friends was a great start to the month!

Nathan and I also went to a comedy club here in Nashville and saw Mamrie Hart perform her stand-up routine! I have been a fan of Mamrie’s over on her YouTube channel for many years, so this was very exciting for me!

I saw a few movies this month, including Ready Player One; Love, Simon; and Avengers: Infinity War. I was not a fan of Ready Player One, but Love, Simon was fantastic!! And I am always pleased with the Avengers movies 🙂

I also hosted my monthly tea party, which is always a blast!

Overall, it’s been a good month!

My May TBR Pile:

I have learned to keep my TBR piles small, as I rarely get to everything that I actually plan to read. But, here are the ones that I’m going to try my hardest to get to:

The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman

Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon

The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare

Hopefully I will read more than that, but those are the ones I am going to try my hardest to get to!

How many books did you read this month? Have you read any of the books I read? What about the books on my TBR for May? Let me know down in the comments!

Also, let me know what you think about me changing my blogging schedule!

Love and happy reading,

  1. Hi Whitney! It seems like you had a lovely reading month, yay! So happy you enjoyed both Eleanor & Park and Simon vs, I loved both as well. I can’t wait to see Love, Simon, I have to wait until the end of June for it to be released in my country and I can’t wait. So glad you enjoyed it!
I hope you’ll love To Kill a Kingdom, I read it this past month and LOVED it!

  2. Ooh, yay for you loving Simon vs.! I love that book; but I love its sequel – Leah on the Offbeat – even more. Are you planning on reading that one as well? 🙂
To Kill a Kingdom and The Hazel Wood are both on my TBR. Hoping to read the first on this month, but we’ll see about that. 😀

  3. I’ve read Eleanor and Park, Ready Player One, and Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. I enjoyed all. I tried reading The Favorite Sister. I could not get into it at all. I can’t wait to see your review on it. I also am excited to see you reading the To Kill A Kingdom in May. I’ve been hearing a lot about that book. Plus I love the cover. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it as well.
