It’s time for another monthly wrap-up! May was a bit of a slower reading month for me. I only finished eight books, but I finished a majority of the books I had planned out for the month, so that seems like a win to me!
Books I Read:
Bullied to Death by Judith A. Yates (REVIEW) (3.5 Stars)
Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan (4 Stars)
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert (review coming soon) (4 Stars)
Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare (5 Stars)
The Strawberry Hearts Diner by Carolyn Brown (4 Stars)
To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo (review coming soon) (5 Stars)
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (5 Stars)
The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman (4 Stars)
(Disclaimer: All of the above are affiliate links to Amazon, and when you purchase a book through one, I will receive a small commission. Just FYI 🙂 )
As I said earlier, it was a bit of a slower reading month for me, but it was a quality reading month. My lowest rating was 3.5 Stars, which is pretty great. So, while I read less, the quality was high, and that is the most important thing, don’t you think?
Things I Posted:
Book Review: Ready Player One + Interview with Gaming Aficionado
The Liebster Award: Discovering New Blogs
Book Review: The Prince and the Dressmaker
April Subscription Boxes: OwlCrate and LitJoy Crate
Book Review: The Favorite Sister
I started doing WWW Wednesday posts this month, and I’ve really been enjoying it. It is definitely keeping me more accountable. I think doing three posts a week is working well for me right now. I just started a new job, which will give me a few more days a week off, so I might potentially add another day to my posting schedule. I’ll have to think about it…thoughts?
Getting Personal:
May was a pretty big month for me! I went to the Renaissance Festival with my husband and my friends Lori and Cole. I had lots of fun movie nights with several of my friends. My husband, Nathan, and I became official members of our church. I had my monthly tea party that I host at my house.
Most importantly, I quit my job at Barnes & Noble. I worked there for three years, made some great memories and some even greater friends. But, it was time to move on. I will definitely miss a lot of things about working in a bookstore (the discount on books being a major one 😉 ), but I am excited to start my new job. I am working in a flower shop, where I will be learning the art of arranging flowers! I am super excited for this opportunity, and can’t wait to see how it challenges me 🙂
My June TBR Pile:
Regular Reads:
Suitors and Sabotage by Cindy Anstey
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
NetGalley ARCS:
The Love Letter by Rachel Hauck
The Unbinding of Mary Reade by Miriam McNamara
The Orphan’s Wish by Melanie Dickerson
I have a lot of NetGalley ARCS for books that are being published during the month of June, so I need to get on those ASAP!! As for the other titles, I’ve been meaning to read Suitors and Sabotage for a while. I just finished Lady Midnight, and am anxious to start on Lord of Shadows. Olivia Twist is the book that I received in the May Once Upon a Bookclub box this month, and I am planning to follow the reading plan they sent, so that I can open up the packages on their schedule.
How many books did you read this month? Have you read any of the books I read? What about the books on my TBR for June? Let me know down in the comments!
Love and happy reading,
Olivia Twist is on my wishlist, I wait to know your opinion! And I wish you luck with your new job!
