I was tagged by Margaret @ Weird Zeal to participate in this very special event! Every day for the next week, I will be posting a Harry Potter related post to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in the UK! Today is Day 1 – The Hogwarts Tag! Here is what Margaret had to say:
This year, on June 26th, will be 21 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published in the UK. And yes, 21 is kind of an awkward number, but I didn’t have a blog last year for the 20th anniversary, and I guess that means the series can legally drink in the US, which means nothing because it’s British, but ANYWAYS.
I will be posting something Harry Potter related on the seven days leading up to June 26th, and I’m inviting you to join me!
The Rules:
- Link back to one of Weird Zeal’s posts so she can see that you’re taking part!
- Tag your friends and tell them to join in as well!
- Have fun!
So, without further ado, let’s get to The Hogwarts Tag, shall we?
1: What house are you in?
I’m a very proud Hufflepuff!!
2: What is your patronus?
Mine is a Bassett Hound
3: What is your wand?
Laurel wood with a Phoenix feather core 12 1/4″ and Supple flexibility
4: What would your boggart be?
Either bugs (any kind, I don’t discriminate), or that terrifying girl from The Ring.
5: What position would you play in Quidditch?
I think I would probably be the keeper. I played keeper in soccer, so that seems like a good fit.
6: Would you be a pure blood, half blood, or muggle born?
I really have no idea. I like the idea of being muggle born and then just finding out that I could use magic!
7: What job would you want to have after graduating Hogwarts?
Hmm…maybe a journalist for one of the magical papers? Or maybe even a singer in one of those magical bands, like the one that played at the Yule Ball in Goblet of Fire! I wouldn’t want any of the conventional wizarding jobs.
8: Which of the Deathly Hallows would you choose?
Invisibility cloak, definitely
9: Favorite book?
I always used to say Prisoner of Azkaban, but when I re-read the series a couple of years ago, I really liked Order of the Phoenix. I found Harry’s angst more funny than frustrating this time around.
10: Least favorite book?
I have never been a big fan of Half-Blood Prince. One obvious reason is the loss of Dumbledore (I’m still not over it). But, apart from that, I just felt like it was just a lot of filler leading up the big shebang of the last book, personally.
11: Favorite film?
I have always really loved the film for Prisoner of Azkaban. The cinematography was absolutely gorgeous. We also really started to see the actors embody their characters. I do love Deathly Hallows Parts One and Two as well.
12: Least favorite film?
I really don’t like Goblet of Fire. I just felt like they left out so many important things from that one. I also absolutely despised all of the boys’ hair in that movie haha
13: Favorite character?
Oh man, are you really going to make me choose just one?? Y’all know I love my girl Hermione. But I also really love Luna Lovegood. And I really like Harry!!
14: Least favorite/most hated character?
Honestly, it is 100% Professor Umbridge.
15: Favorite teacher at Hogwarts?
I absolutely love Lupin!! And I love, love, love Professor McGonagall. I also really love Hagrid. Choosing just one is so hard!!
16: Least favorite teacher at Hogwarts?
I am really not a fan of Professor Trelawney. And I’ll throw Professor Binns in there, just because he is so boring.
17: Do you have any unpopular opinions about the series?
Apart from some of the things I listed above, I can’t think of any…
18: If you could save one character from the finale battle who would you save?
Again, just one??!! I’m going to choose Lupin/Tonks, because I could never save one without the other. That pair’s death left me absolutely sobbing.
And on that cheery note, there you have the Hogwarts Tag!!
I’m going to tag some people that I would love to see participate in all of the Harry Potter Anniversary Week shenanigans! But, please feel free to join in, even if I don’t tag you here!

Love and happy reading,
I’m so glad you’re joining in! I loved reading your post 😄 and a Bassett hound would be such a cool (and adorable!) patronus omg

Thanks for the tag! I am already participating in this event, so you can see all my posts on my page 🙂
I’m also glad I am not the only person who despised the boys hair the goblet of Fire movie. Bleckkk

OMG SO EXCITED 😂😂 but seriously. How freakin hard is it to get a haircut? What a phase man. My brothers went through a phase like that too. So weird

Thanks so much for the tag, I loved reading your answers. I HATE Umbridge too, she is just horrible. I think her looking so bright and smiley just makes her actions just so much worse.

You’re welcome! Yes, I agree completely! And that awful little girl voice, especially when she says such awful things!

Thanks for the tag! Prisoner of Azkaban was always my favorite but I haven’t read the book in years so I wonder if it would change for me too? Great Answers 😀

Haha, the muggle part of me likes the idea that any magic jobs are conventional. They have magic for crying out loud. But my timeline that got a Hogwarts letter, completely understands what you mean.
