Things I Posted:

Monthly Wrap-Up: January 2019 ~ Book Review: I’ll Be Gone In The Dark ~ WWW Wednesday: February 6, 2019 ~ Book Review: Daughter of Moloka’i

So…I had a very sparse blogging month. For some reason, I just felt supremely unmotivated to blog. It was feeling more like a chore than something that I enjoyed, so I decided to give myself a bit of an unannounced hiatus. I’m sure none of you noticed my absence, but I did miss all of you! I’m hoping that March will be a better month for me. I am feeling more excited to get back into the swing of things now. Sometimes you just have to give yourself some grace and allow yourself to take a break. 🙂

Getting Personal:

For being the shortest month of the year, a lot happened in February! It started out as usual with my book club meeting (we talked about My Name Is Leon, and we announced our read of Sputnik Sweetheart this month, which was definitely out of my comfort zone!). From there, I had some stressful weeks at work (got bitten by a dog while delivering flowers, and then delivering flowers over Valentine’s Day…madness I tell you!)

I got to see Angie Thomas talk about her new book, On The Come Up! I am so excited for this book, and she was an absolute delight! 🙂

I celebrated Valentine’s Day with my amazing husband. I got to get together with some dear friends. There was severe flooding in our area, so we had to cancel my monthly tea party (very sad!!) Come to think of it…no wonder I was a bit stressed and didn’t feel like blogging much this month!!

Now for the really big news…my husband and I are adopting and we were matched!!! (cue explosions and dance-party sounds!!!) Here is our official announcement:

My husband and I are so excited to announce that we are adopting a precious little 2 year old girl from China! We have been waiting for a little over a year, and we were finally matched last month. We are currently waiting for our paperwork to be processed by China, so we would appreciate your thoughts and prayers in this time of anticipation. We will be waiting to post pictures of her until we travel, but we are more than happy to show her to you in person! We are absolutely ecstatic for our family to be growing soon! ❤️

All of this to say, my blogging might grow a bit sporadic in the coming months, and even more so once she is here. I am so thrilled about this new development in our life, and I cannot wait to hold her in my arms. It can’t come soon enough!!

My March TBR Pile:

I’d Rather Be Reading by Anne Bogel

Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston

Sky In The Deep by Adrienne Young

Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew by Sherrie Eldridge

How many books did you read this month? Have you read any of the books I read? What about the books on my TBR for March? To my fellow bloggers, how do you get out of a blogging slump? Let me know down in the comments!

Love and happy reading,
