WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words! All you have to do is answer the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I just started on Again, but Better. I’m hoping it is as good as it sounds!
I’m working my way through Toddler 411. It is giving some really good insights and is actually kind of humorous, which was a pleasant surprise.
What did you recently finish reading?
I finally finished Spinning Silver! It was a bit slower paced than I was expecting, but the story was fantastic. I loved seeing how all of the different storylines wove together to create a beautiful tapestry of prose. I ended up liking certain characters that I didn’t like in the beginning, which is always a fun turn around. (4.5 Stars)
Words in Deep Blue was a fun contemporary. It was kind of heavy with the emotional side of things, but I absolutely loved the concept of being able to connect with someone through notes left in a book. There is just something so dreamy about it, and it definitely kept me listening. (4 Stars)
Mine In China was a great read for anyone who is going through the China adoption process. She talks about everything from the absolute beginning of choosing to adopt through bringing your little one home. It was super helpful and gave me some peace of mind on several points that I had been nervous about before. (4 Stars)
Northanger Abbey was a re-read for me, and I liked it as much as I did the first time. This read through, I actually got worked up over the way the Thorpes were treating Catherine, which I don’t remember from last time. You can definitely tell this is one of Austen’s early works, but I love how much you can hear her voice in the narration of this novel. This book gets poo-poo’d by a lot of people, but I find it fun and witty. (4 Stars)
I am a big Parks and Rec fan, so I was excited to pick up So Close to Being the Sh*t, Y’all Don’t Even Know by Retta. She is so funny! I loved listening to her (by the way, definitely do the audio for this book, she reads it herself). It felt like I was sitting down with a girlfriend to have a chat, and I love books like that. Very funny and very real. (4 Stars)
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m honestly not sure. I am heading into a few weeks where I am going to be absolutely slammed with adoption stuff and other various social engagements. Hopefully I will be able to read, but I’m not going to plan anything out!
Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? What are you currently reading? Let me know down in the comments!
Love and happy reading,
