July Subscription Box: OwlCrate

It’s time for another monthly unboxing! I subscribe to OwlCrate, which is a subscription box for YA book lovers. It always has fun, bookish goodies, as well as a book that has been signed by the author. It also generally has an OwlCrate exclusive cover. Basically, if you love getting great new books and fun bookish things for your home/person, you should try out OwlCrate!

July OwlCrate: Strange & Unusual

The theme for this month’s box was Strange & Unusual. I honestly had no clue what book this might be, and I was a little bit nervous because I am the biggest scaredy cat you will ever meet, and I didn’t know if everything in the box was going to be scary 😱IMG_2348

The first thing I pulled out of the box was this cute little pennant flag designed by Risa Rodil. It was inspired by Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, which I have never read and never plan to because I am a huge weenie 😉

Next was this little Funko POP keychain of Dustin from Stranger Things. Again, I have never watched Stranger Things, nor will I, but my husband does! So this keychain is his now!

These Ouija board mints, from Boston America Corp., were are cute nod to the theme of the box. This set of skull push pins were designed by Team OwlCrate, and they are very cute.

This beautiful wallet was designed by Reverie and Ink! It is inspired by The Raven Boys series by Maggie Stiefvater. Yet again, I’ve never read these books, but I do intend to at some point. I’ve heard too many people go on about how much they love this series!

This Luna Lovegood sticker, designed by TJ Lubrano, made me so happy when I pulled it out of the box! And this art print, designed by Aun-Juli Riddle, is absolutely gorgeous!

And this month’s book was My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows! It is the 2nd book in the Lady Janies series! Here is the Goodreads synopsis:

You may think you know the story. After a miserable childhood, penniless orphan Jane Eyre embarks on a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There, she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester. Despite their significant age gap (!) and his uneven temper (!!), they fall in love—and, Reader, she marries him. (!!!)

Or does she?

Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Brontë, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.

I just finished reading My Lady Jane, so this was impeccable timing!! I am so excited to dive into this book, partly because the first book in the series was fantastic, and also because I am a huge fan of Jane Eyre!
