WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words! All you have to do is answer the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I have been told by tons of people that I need to read Mine In China, so here I am!
Spinning Silver is our book club pick for the month of April (it was my pick this time!) I’m excited to dive into it. I absolutely loved Novik’s book Uprooted, and this is supposedly in a similar style to that one, so I have high hopes!
I have been meaning to read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for so long, and I am finally doing it! The audio book is fantastic so far.
As I am adopting a toddler and I know next to nothing about toddlers, I thought Toddler 411 seemed like a good idea 😂
What did you recently finish reading?
The audiobook version of Pride and Prejudice certainly did not disappoint! This is one of my favorite books, and listening to the audiobook was like getting a nice big hug for my ears. Fantastic! (5 Stars)
I’d Rather Be Reading was everything that I hoped it would be! I love Anne Bogel’s blog and podcast, so getting to hear more of her opinions on all things books was a treat. There were thought provoking chapters, as well as laugh out loud chapters, and I would recommend this to anyone who loves reading! (4 Stars)
I finally finished Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew while on vacation. It had some really great points, and gave some good insight into the mind of the adopted child. I will certainly be referencing several of the points in the future. (3.5 Stars)
I absolutely adored The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James! I will be posting a review for this soon, so stay tuned! (5 Stars)
What do you think you’ll read next?
I don’t know! We’ll have to see how long it takes me to get through the four books I’m reading now!
I recently DNF’d two books as well. I don’t do this much anymore, but I have been feeling more like putting down books that I’m just not enjoying lately because I am about to have a little one running around, and my reading time will be at a premium! Both of these books were just not doing it for me. These are the two books I DNF’d in the past two weeks:
Save The Date was fine except for the fact that it was one of those books where absolutely everything goes wrong (ala an I Love Lucy episode) and I hate books like that. I gave it a good go, but I started feeling frustrated and anxious each time I picked it up, so DNF!
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings was just not for me. I kept zoning out. There was so much description and not much action, and when there was action I just wasn’t engaged. I finally gave up on in about 13 chapters in.
Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? What are you currently reading? Let me know down in the comments!
Love and happy reading,
