Every day for the next week, I will be posting a Harry Potter related post to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in the UK! Today is Day 7 – a thank you! Here is what Margaret had to say:

This year, on June 26th, will be 21 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published in the UK. And yes, 21 is kind of an awkward number, but I didn’t have a blog last year for the 20th anniversary, and I guess that means the series can legally drink in the US, which means nothing because it’s British, but ANYWAYS.

I will be posting something Harry Potter related on the seven days leading up to June 26th, and I’m inviting you to join me!

Today is the last day of Harry Potter Anniversary Week, and today’s topic is fittingly a thank you. This thank you could be to anyone/anything in the Harry Potter universe, but I wanted to thank J.K. Rowling. So, without further ado, here is my letter to J.K. Rowling:

Dear Ms. Rowling,

I wanted to take a moment to say, “Thank you.”

Thank you for creating this wonderful, brilliant world.

Thank you for being brave enough to try.

Thank you for putting pen to paper.

Thank you for giving your heart and soul to everyone in the world.

Thank you for using your platform to bring people together.

Thank you for giving a voice to so many amazing characters.

Thank you for creating a safe space for people to believe in magic. 

Thank you for continuing to expand this universe that I love so dearly. 

Thank you for writing – perhaps one of the scariest things you can do. 

And, most of all, thank you for making everyone’s world just a little bit better, happier, and more magical.
