WWW Wednesday: December 5, 2018

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words! All you have to do is answer the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

myplainjane

I started on My Plain Jane…finally!! I’ve been saying I was going to read this book for the past several months, so I’m happy to finally be reading it.

thewholebrainchild

I’m still working through The Whole-Brain Child. I will probably read this one fairly slowly, as I am underlining things and trying to very actively read it and soak it all in.

queenofairanddarkness

I just started Queen of Air and Darkness yesterday, and I’m loving it so far! I do all of the Shadowhunter books on audio, so I get to listen to James Marsters’ dulcet tones, which makes me extra happy 🙂

unmarriageable

Unmarriageable is my current NetGalley ARC, and I am really enjoying it so far! Give me anything based on Austen, and I will almost certainly love it!

What did you recently finish reading?

stuckinmanistique

I wrote up my review for Stuck in Manistique on Monday. You can check out my review here! (3 Stars)

dumplin

I finally got off of the waiting list for Dumplin’ from my library, so I listened to it on audio last week. I loved it so much! I thought the characters were so well-written, and the struggles of Willowdean were so relatable. I really enjoyed going on a journey with her, and I found myself constantly wanting more. I’m really excited to watch the movie now! (5 Stars)

thehandmaidstale

I have been putting off reading The Handmaid’s Tale for so long because I have heard such mixed reviews from people I know. I decided it was time I took the plunge and listened to it on audio (with Claire Danes narrating, who did a fantastic job, btw). I ended up really enjoying it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the narrative structure at first, because I’m generally not a fan of jumping around in the timeline. I would usually rather be told the history I need to know for context at once, but it ended up working well in this novel. I was consistently intrigued, and I found myself racing toward the end so I could see what happened. So, all in all, kind of surprising, but in a great way! (4 Stars)

What do you think you’ll read next?

aftertherain

I met Jane Lorenzini at the Southern Festival of Books this year, and ever since then I have been very excited to pick up her new book, After the Rain!

Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them?

What are you currently reading? Let me know down in the comments!

Love and happy reading,
